Product Description 1.11.2.1 Power Connector ATX12V-compliant power supplies can turn off the system power through system control. When an ACPI-enabled system receives the correct command, the power supply removes all non-standby voltages. When resuming from an AC power failure, the computer returns to the power state it was in before power was interrupted (on or off). The computer's response can be set using the Last Power State feature in the BIOS Setup program's Boot menu. For information about The location of the main power connector The signal names of the main power connector Refer to Figure 7, page 38 Table 22, page 41 1.11.2.2 Fan Connectors The function/operation of the fan connectors is as follows: • The fans are on when the board is in the S0 or S1 state. • The fans are off when the board is off or in the S3, S4, or S5 state. • Each fan connector is wired to a fan tachometer input of the SMSC SCH5017 I/O controller. • All fan connectors support closed-loop fan control that can adjust the fan speed or switch the fan on or off as needed. • All fan connectors have a +12 V DC connection. For information about The signal names of the processor fan connector The signal names of the chassis fan connectors Refer to Table 20, page 40 Table 21, page 40 1.11.2.3 LAN Wake Capabilities CAUTION For LAN wake capabilities, the +5 V standby line for the power supply must be capable of providing adequate +5 V standby current. Failure to provide adequate standby current when implementing LAN wake capabilities can damage the power supply. LAN wake capabilities enable remote wake-up of the computer through a network. The LAN network adapter monitors network traffic at the Media Independent Interface. Upon detecting a Magic Packet* frame, the LAN subsystem asserts a wake-up signal that powers up the computer. Depending on the LAN implementation, the board supports LAN wake capabilities with ACPI in the following ways: • The PCI Express WAKE# signal • The PCI Conventional bus PME# signal for PCI 2.2 compliant LAN designs • The onboard LAN subsystem 27

1.11.2.1
Power Connector
ATX12V-compliant power supplies can turn off the system power through system control.
When
an ACPI-enabled system receives the correct command, the power supply removes all non-standby
voltages.
When resuming from an AC power failure, the computer returns to the power state it was in before
power was interrupted (on or off).
The computer’s response can be set using the Last Power State
feature in the BIOS Setup program’s Boot menu.
For information about

Fan Connectors
The function/operation of the fan connectors is as follows:
The fans are on when the board is in the S0 or S1 state.
The fans are off when the board is off or in the S3, S4, or S5 state.
Each fan connector is wired to a fan tachometer input of the SMSC SCH5017 I/O controller.
All fan connectors support closed-loop fan control that can adjust the fan speed or switch the
fan on or off as needed.
All fan connectors have a +12 V DC connection.
For information about
Refer to
The signal names of the processor fan connector

LAN Wake Capabilities
CAUTION
For LAN wake capabilities, the +5 V standby line for the power supply must be capable of
providing adequate +5 V standby current.
Failure to provide adequate standby current when
implementing LAN wake capabilities can damage the power supply.
LAN wake capabilities enable remote wake-up of the computer through a network.
The LAN
network adapter monitors network traffic at the Media Independent Interface.
Upon detecting a
Magic Packet* frame, the LAN subsystem asserts a wake-up signal that powers up the computer.
Depending on the LAN implementation, the board supports LAN wake capabilities with ACPI in
the following ways:
The PCI Express WAKE# signal
The PCI Conventional bus PME# signal for PCI 2.2 compliant LAN designs
The onboard LAN subsystem
