When the cold boot is complete, the Home screen appears. Clean Boot the Computer Caution: A clean boot erases the memory in the mobile computer, including all applications and data files, with the expection of those found in the Flash File Store, or any removable storage. If the computer seems to be locked up, try cold booting it. If this process does not work, use a clean boot to get the computer up and running for further troubleshooting. 1 Press and hold the Power button for about 2 seconds to suspend the computer. 2 Remove the battery pack from the back of the computer. 3 With a stylus, press the Reset button in the battery cavity. 4 Insert the battery pack into the computer and immediately press and hold the Power button. 5 Continue to hold the Power button until the "Release IO Button" prompt appears on the screen. 6 Release the button and the message "Enter first key in 20 seconds" appears on the screen. Press 9 on the keypad. 7 The message "Enter second key in 6 seconds" appears on the screen. Press 6 on the keypad. 8 The message "Reconfirm first key in 6 seconds" appears on the screen. Press 9 again. 9 The message "Reconfirm second key in 6 seconds" appears on the screen. Press 6 again. 10 The message "Cleanboot Confirmed" appears on the screen. Replace the battery and the handstrap.

Press the
Power
button and wait for the computer to boot. When
the cold boot is complete, the Home screen appears.
Clean Boot the Computer
If the computer seems to be locked up, try cold booting it. If this
process does not work, use a clean boot to get the computer up and
running for further troubleshooting.

Press and hold the
Power
button for about 2 seconds to suspend
the computer.

Remove the battery pack from the back of the computer.

With a stylus, press the
Reset
button in the battery cavity.

Insert the battery pack into the computer and immediately press
and hold the
Power
button.

Continue to hold the
Power
button until the “Release IO Button”
prompt appears on the screen.
