Energy‑ and paper‑saving options 1 From the Embedded Web Server, click Settings > Embedded Solutions > Eco‑Settings > Configure. Adjust the following settings as needed: • Eco Mode-Choose Off, Energy (to reduce energy use, especially when the printer is idle), Energy/Paper, or Paper (to turn off print log features). Notes: - Choosing Energy/Paper will automatically set 2‑Sided Printing and Power Saver to default levels. Additional changes made to those settings through the Embedded Web Server will be ignored. - When Energy or Energy/Paper is enabled, printer engine motors do not start until a job is ready to print. You may therefore notice a short delay before the first page is printed. • Standby Mode-Type the number of minutes (1‑240) the printer will wait before darkening the home screen. • Power Saver-Type the number of minutes (1‑240) the printer will wait before powering down the print engine. Note: Standby Mode will engage automatically when the printer is in Power Saver mode. • Screen Brightness-Type a number for the desired percentage of screen brightness (20‑100). • 2‑Sided Printing-Choose 1‑Sided, 2‑Sided Long Edge, or 2‑Sided Short Edge. • Toner Darkness-From the menu choose a toner darkness value (1‑10). • Quiet Mode-Click the check box to reduce the amount of noise produced by the printer. Note: In Quiet Mode, printer engine motors do not start until a job is ready to print. You may notice a short delay before the first page is printed, as well as a reduction in processing speed. • Lock UI-Click the check box to prevent users from changing Eco‑Settings using the printer touch screen. 2 Click Apply to save changes, or Restore Defaults to return all settings to default values. Exporting or importing configuration settings You can export configuration settings into a text file that can then be imported and then used to apply the settings to one or more additional printers. 1 From the Embedded Web Server, click Settings > Embedded Solutions > Eco‑Settings > Configure. 2 To export your current settings, click Export, and then follow the browser prompts to save the configuration file. You will have the option to enter a unique file name or use the default name. 3 To import a previously saved configuration, click Import, browse to the saved configuration file, and then load or preview it.
