MS-9273 Server CPU, Heatsink, and Fan Duct 1. On top of the CPU is a fan duct designed to enhance heat dissipation of the CPU. First unscrew the fan duct bracket. Then lift up & remove the fan duct before installing the CPU. 2. Locate the first CPU socket. (The CPU has a plastic cap on it to protect the contact from damage. Before installing the CPU, always cover it to protect the socket pins.) 3. Raise the load lever up to its full extent. CPU1 CPU2 4. Open the load plate. The pins of the socket reveal. 5. Remove the plastic cap from the load plate. 2-20

Locate the first CPU socket. (The CPU has a plastic cap on it to protect the contact
from damage. Before installing the CPU, always cover it to protect the socket
