Before using for the first time Heating up the oven for the first time and rinsing the steam injection system New ovens can give off unpleasant odors when they are used for the first time. Heating up both ovens for at least 1 hour with nothing in them will eliminate these smells. It is a good idea to rinse the steam injection system at the same time. Ensure that the kitchen is well ventilated when heating up the ovens. Close doors to other rooms to prevent the smells from spreading through the house. Remove any adhesive labels or protective films from the ovens and accessories. Before heating up the ovens, wipe the interiors with a damp cloth to remove any dust or pieces of packaging that may have accumulated during storage and unpacking. Place all trays and racks in the interiors. Heating the upper oven for the first time Turn the oven on. The main menu for the upper oven appears. Select Operating Modes . Select the Moisture Plus mode. The default temperature (350 °F/160 °C) is displayed. The oven heating, lighting and cooling fan will turn on. Set the highest possible temperature (475 °F/250 °C). Confirm with OK. Select Automatic burst of steam. After a short time, a burst of steam is injected automatically. Risk of injury! Steam can cause scalding. Do not open the door during a steam burst. Heating the lower oven for the first time Select the "Lower" button. Select Operating Modes . Select the Convection Bake mode. The default temperature (350 °F/160 °C) is displayed. The oven heating, lighting and cooling fan will turn on. Set the highest possible temperature (475 °F/250 °C). Confirm with OK. Heat both ovens for at least one hour. After at least one hour: Turn the oven off using the On/Off button. 36
