Printing the Test Page To test a printer queue, select it, and click the 'Test Print' button. This will execute the test print operation - if it prints correctly, then your printer and your printer queue are in good working order. It is the same as printing the standard Windows test page. Viewing the standard Windows Printer Queue List To view the standard Windows Printer Queue, select choose the printer then click the 'Queue' button. You can cancel or pause the print jobs using this functionality. Viewing the Properties of a Windows Printer Queue To view the properties of the standard Windows Printer Queue, select a printer and click the 'Properties' button. Each printer queue has separate properties. The 'Device Settings' tab in the printer properties window allows you to control setting such as paper cutting methods, and printing speed. Each printer queue maintains its own set of properties. These properties control the printer's behaviour and actions. Setting the default printer Select a printer queue in the Windows Printer Queue Management list and click the 'Set Default' button to set it as the default printer. When you print from an application, unless you've specified otherwise, it will print to the default printer queue. Renaming the Printer Queue Click the name of a printer under 'Printer Name' in the Printer Queue Management list to make the printer name (printer queue name) editable. You can change the name to anything you want. You may not use the characters '!', '\', or ','. If you are using the USB interface, you cannot change the printer queue name through the Printer Utility function. Note: If you change the USB printer queue name directly in the operating system's printer folder, you will no longer be able to use the USB interface connection. Refreshing the Printer Queue Management List If you add or delete printer queues using the standard Windows functionality, you will have to click the 'Refresh' button to refresh the list. - 72 -
