Using the card Card basics 1 This camera uses SmartMedia or CompactFlash to record images. This instruction manual uses the term "card" when referring to both. It is possible to load both types in the camera at the same time. What is SmartMedia? SmartMedia is a recording medium for the Olympus CAMEDIA digital camera. Images recorded and stored on SmartMedia can easily be deleted, overwritten, and/or edited on a PC.
