TROUBLESHOOTING Incorrect operations are often mistaken for malfunctions. If you think that there is something wrong with this unit or error code *" EDO is displayed (on the mode indicator), check the points below. A symptom which look like a malfunction is observed or error code is displayed often due to improper maintenance, disc defect or incorrect operation. And what seems to be a serious trouble can be recovered by correcting a simple mistake or misunderstanding or simple care of the unit. If the normal operation cannot be recovered or error code does not disappear after checking the following, please consult a PIONEER after-sale servicing agent or your dealer. Symptom Display Causes Remedy The door will not open. • The key switch is not set to the UNLOCK position. • The door open button has not been pressed for more than 4 seconds. • Some discs have not been returned yet. • Set the key switch to the UNLOCK position using the key. • Press and hold the door open button for more than 4 seconds. • Rezero Unit command must be issued. No operation. The power indicator does not light. No operation. The power indicator lights. • The power is not supplied. • Plug the power cord into the power outlet. • The POWER switch is not switched ON. • Press the POWER switch. OP U-L • The door is open. • Close the door. E83 • The disc is projected inside the Changer. • Open the door, unload the magazines and ensure that no disc is projected from them. The disc cannot be exchanged from the control panel. • The key switch is set to the LOCK position. • Set the key switch to the UNLOCK position using the key. The unit cannot be operated from the host computer. • The SCSI cable to the Changer is not connected properly. • The Function switch and SCSI ID of the Changer are not set properly. • Check the connection cable. • Check the Function switch and SCSI ID switches. The disc cannot be set in the drive. • The disc has not been installed in the • Specify an address in which a disc has specified address. been installed. Data is not delivered. • The disc is placed upside down. • The disc is scratched or dirty. • Due is condensed inside the unit. • Check the disc orientation. • Check that the disc is not scratched or dirty, and exchange or clean the disc as required. • Switch the power OFF, leave the door of the unit open for one or two hours, then try again. After taking action according to the remedies above, switch the power of the unit OFF then ON again. If the error code is displayed or the normal operation cannot be recovered still after this, immediately switch the power OFF again and call a PIONEER after-sale servicing agent or your dealer. For the explanation of the error codes, refer to the error code list attached on the back side of the Changer door. Do not use the following types of discs for they may cause malfunction of the unit or damage to the discs: Disc which has a molding flash (projected fin) left on the periphery as shown in the illustration.
