Selecting the sound mode using the Control Menu 1 While pressing SHIFT, press V twice during playback. The Control Menu is displayed. 2 Press v/V to select (SOUND MODE), then press ENTER. Use X/x instead of v/V. Notes • The modes you can select depend on whether an audio cord is connected or not. If an audio cord is connected, you cannot select "MEGABASS1" or "MEGABASS2." • The sound mode setting is stored in the player individually depending on whether the audio cord is connected or not. The sound mode selected when the audio cord is connected or not depends on the conditions required by the respective sound modes. xV-SUR (Virtual Surround) i1/V-SUR i2 Uses sound imaging to create virtual speakers from the sound of headphones (L, R) as shown in the illustrations below. The sound imaging effect makes you feel just like you are listening to the sound from speakers surrounding you. i1 is effective when using inner-ear headphones. i2 is effective when using open-air headphones such as the MDR-F1. • Multiple audio format, such as Dolby Digital 5.1-channel L CR To reset the sound mode setting In Step 3, select "NORMAL."
