STD (forced STD): The STD mode is always used (forced STD mode). N-STD (forced non-STD): Use this setting when the input video signal is unstable (forced NON-STD mode). Notes • When using a VCR with no built-in time base corrector (e.g. a home- use VHS-system VCR), select "N-STD". • When this item is set to "N-STD", the following limitations apply, because this unit's sync reference signal generator always synchronizes to an internal sync reference signal (see page 43). - It is not possible to record VITC, wide picture information, or closed captions, which is multiplexed into the vertical blanking interval of composite video signals. - Lip-sync delays (delays in the synchronization of video and audio) may occur. Select the treatment of audio playback at edit points. cut: Carry out a cut (possibly resulting in audio discontinuities at the edit point). fade: Fade out and fade in. SELECTION OF STD/NON-STD
FOR COMPOSITE VIDEO IN
Select the STD or NON-STD mode in accordance with a composite
video input.
STD (forced STD)
:
The STD mode is always used (forced STD mode).
N-STD (forced non-STD):
Use this setting when the input video signal
is unstable (forced NON-STD mode).
Notes
When using a VCR with no built-in time base corrector (e.g. a home-
use VHS-system VCR), select “N-STD”.
When this item is set to “N-STD”, the following limitations apply,
because this unit’s sync reference signal generator always
