Secure the Extended Network

Page 21 highlights

On the Extended Network page, you can change and hide the wireless network name (SSID) of the extender, as well as enable or disable the wireless network of the extender. 1. Launch a web browser and log into http://tplinkrepeater.net, then go to Settings > Wireless > Extended Network page. 2. Either click Copy Host SSID or create a new name using up to 32 characters for the extended 2.4GHz nework. The SSID is case-sensitive. Secure the Extended Network Change your Admin Account 1. Launch a web browser and log into http://tplinkrepeater.net, then go to Settings > System Tools > Admin Account page. 2. Create a new username and password as shown in the figure below. 3. Select the Hide SSID broadcast checkbox if you want to hide the extender's SSID from the wireless devices. If you want to connect to the hiden SSID, please enter the SSID and the password manaully. 4. Click Save to save the settings.  Old Username / Password:Enter your current username / password.  New Username / Password: Enter your new username / pawword.  Confirm Password: Re-enter your new password. 3. Manage the Extended Network and Security Settings
On the Extended Network page, you can change and hide the wireless network
name (SSID) of the extender, as well as enable or disable the wireless network
of the extender.
1.
Launch a web browser and log into
http://tplinkrepeater.net
, then go to
Settings > Wireless > Extended Network
page.
2.
Either click
Copy Host SSID
or create a new name using up to 32
characters for the extended 2.4GHz nework. The SSID is case-sensitive.

Select the
Hide SSID broadcast
checkbox if you want to hide the
extender’s SSID
from the wireless devices. If you want to connect to the
hiden SSID, please enter the SSID and the password manaully.

Secure the Extended Network
Change your Admin Account
1.
Launch a web browser and log into
http://tplinkrepeater.net
, then go to
Settings > System Tools > Admin Account
page.
2.
Create a new username and password as shown in the figure below.
Old Username / Password
Enter your current username / password.
New Username / Password:
Enter your new username / pawword.
Confirm Password:
Re-enter your new password.
3.
Click
Save
to save the settings.
