Getting Started Customizing the desktop 17 5 If you want to print a test page, click Yes (recommended), then click Finish. TECHNICAL NOTE: Some printers require a specific installation process. In this case, the Windows 2000 Add Printer Wizard will display an error message. If this happens, refer to your printer installation guide for further instructions. If you dislike the colors or the fonts on the screen, you can change them by clicking a blank area of the desktop with the secondary button, then clicking Properties. This causes Windows 2000 Professional to open the Display Properties window. On the Appearance tab you can set the color scheme for the desktop. Turning off the computer It's a good idea to turn off your computer when you're not using it for a while. To shut down the computer completely and turn it off, use the Windows Shut Down command. 1 Click the Start menu, then Shut Down. The Shut Down Windows dialog box appears.
