Learning the Basics Windows 2000 Professional basics 23 2 Click the item, such as a file, program, folder, printer or computer for which you want to create the shortcut. 3 On the Explorer File menu, click Create Shortcut. A new shortcut icon appears in Explorer, labeled with the number (2). 4 Drag the shortcut icon from Windows Explorer onto the desktop. Your desktop may contain other icons depending on your configuration. See Windows 2000 Professional online Help for more specific information on each icon and how to use it. Changing the wallpaper NOTE: To retain the Toshiba Active Menu when you change wallpaper, you must follow special instructions. Refer to your Tecra® 8200 Series User's Guide for complete instructions. The background wallpaper can be a decorative graphic image displayed on the desktop. To change the wallpaper: 1 Click Start, Settings, Control Panel. 2 Double-click Display. 3 Select the Background tab, and choose the background pattern you want displayed on the desktop. 4 Click OK.
