Chapter 4 Bandwidth Management Wizard Table 17 Media Bandwidth Management Setup: Services (continued) SERVICE DESCRIPTION NetMeeting (H.323) A multimedia communications product from Microsoft that enables groups to teleconference and videoconference over the Internet. NetMeeting supports VoIP, text chat sessions, a whiteboard, file transfers and application sharing. NetMeeting uses H.323. H.323 is a standard teleconferencing protocol suite that provides audio, data and video conferencing. It allows for real-time point-to-point and multipoint communication between client computers over a packet-based network that does not provide a guaranteed quality of service. H.323 is transported primarily over TCP, using the default port number 1720. VoIP (SIP) Sending voice signals over the Internet is called Voice over IP or VoIP. Session Initiated Protocol (SIP) is an internationally recognized standard for implementing VoIP. SIP is an application-layer control (signaling) protocol that handles the setting up, altering and tearing down of voice and multimedia sessions over the Internet. TFTP Trivial File Transfer Protocol is an Internet file transfer protocol similar to FTP, but uses the UDP (User Datagram Protocol) rather than TCP (Transmission Control Protocol). 4.3 Bandwidth Management Wizard Setup 1 After you enter the admin password to access the web configurator, select Go to Wizard setup and click Apply.
