To maximize fog lamp bulb life it is recommended that the fog lamp switch be turned off after each use prior to turning off the headlamps. s To turn the fog lamps on, push the switch. An indicator light will glow when the lamps are on. s To turn off, push the switch again. "Headlamps On" Alert Chime The "headlamps on" alert chime acts as an indicator that you have left the headlamps or parking lights on. This continuous chime will activate when the following conditions are present: s The headlamp and/or parking lamps are on s There is no key in the ignition s The driver's door is ajar (open) Daytime Running Light (DRL) System (Canadian vehicles only) The Daytime Running Light (DRL) system is designed to turn the high beam headlamps on, with a reduced light output and without illuminating the high beam indicator lamp in the instrument panel. The DRL system operates when all of the following conditions are met: s the vehicle is "running" s the vehicle has a fully released parking brake s the headlamp system is in the OFF position NOTE: You may notice that the lights flicker when the engine is turned on or off. This is a normal condition. 122
