After turning the ignition switch to the ON or START position, the supplemental air bag warning light illuminates. The supplemental air bag warning light will turn off after about 7 seconds if the system is operational. If any of the following conditions occur, the supplemental front air bag, supplemental side air bag and curtain side-impact/rollover air bag systems, and pre-tensioner seat belt systems need servicing: ¼ The supplemental air bag warning light remains on after approximately 7 seconds. SPA1097 light is on, it could mean that the supplemental front air bag, supplemental side air bag, curtain side-impact/ rollover air bag systems and/or pretensioner seat belt systems will not operate in an accident. To help avoid injury to yourself or others, have your vehicle checked by a NISSAN dealer as soon as possible. SUPPLEMENTAL AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT The supplemental air bag warning light, displayin the instrument panel, monitors the ing circuits of the supplemental front air bag, supplemental side air bag and curtain sideimpact and rollover air bag systems, and pretensioner seat belt systems. The circuits monitored by the supplemental air bag warning light are the diagnosis sensor unit, crash zone sensors, satellite sensors, rollover sensors, front air bag modules, side air bag modules, curtain side-impact/rollover air bag modules, and pretensioner seat belts and all related wiring. ¼ The supplemental air bag warning light flashes intermittently. ¼ The supplemental air bag warning light does not come on at all. Under these conditions, the supplemental front air bags, supplemental side air bags, curtain side-impact/rollover air bags and/or pretensioner seat belt may not operate properly. It must be checked and repaired. Take your vehicle to a NISSAN dealer. REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE The supplemental front air bags, supplemental side air bags, curtain side-impact/rollover air bags and pre-tensioner seat belt are designed to activate on a one-time-only basis. As a reminder, unless it is damaged, the supplemental air bag warning light will remain illuminated after inflation has occurred. Repair and replacement of these systems should be done only by a NISSAN dealer. When maintenance work is required on the vehicle, the supplemental front air bags, side air bags, curtain side-impact/rollover air bags, related parts and pre-tensioner seat belt should be pointed out to the person conducting the maintenance. SUPPLEMENTALAIRBAG
WARNINGLIGHT
Thesupplementalairbagwarninglight,display-
ing
in the instrument panel, monitors the
circuits of the supplemental front air bag,
supplemental side air bag and curtain side-
impact and rollover air bag systems, and pre-
tensioner seat belt systems. The circuits moni-
tored by the supplemental air bag warning light
are the diagnosis sensor unit, crash zone sen-
sors,satellitesensors,rolloversensors,frontair
bag modules, side air bag modules, curtain
side-impact/rollover air bag modules, and pre-
tensionerseatbeltsandallrelatedwiring.
After turning the ignition switch to the ON or
STARTposition,thesupplementalairbagwarn-
ing light illuminates. The supplemental air bag
warninglightwillturnoffafterabout7seconds
ifthesystemisoperational.
If any of the following conditions occur, the
supplementalfrontairbag,supplementalsideair
bag and curtain side-impact/rollover air bag
systems, and pre-tensioner seat belt systems
needservicing:
°
The supplemental air bag warning light re-
mainsonafterapproximately7seconds.
°
The supplemental air bag warning light
flashesintermittently.
°
Thesupplementalairbagwarninglightdoes
notcomeonatall.
Under these conditions, the supplemental front
air bags, supplemental side air bags, curtain
side-impact/rollover air bags and/or pre-
tensioner seat belt may not operate properly. It
mustbecheckedandrepaired.Takeyourvehicle
toaNISSANdealer.
WARNING
If the supplemental air bag warning
light is on, it could mean that the
supplementalfrontairbag,supplemen-
tal side air bag, curtain side-impact/
rollover air bag systems and/or pre-
tensionerseatbeltsystemswillnotop-
erateinanaccident.Tohelpavoidinjury
toyourselforothers,haveyourvehicle
checkedbyaNISSANdealerassoonas
possible.
REPAIRANDREPLACEMENT
PROCEDURE
The supplemental front air bags, supplemental
side air bags, curtain side-impact/rollover air
bagsandpre-tensionerseatbeltaredesignedto
activateonaone-time-onlybasis.Asareminder,
unless it is damaged, the supplemental air bag
warninglightwillremainilluminatedafterinflation
has occurred. Repair and replacement of these
systems should be done only by a NISSAN
dealer.
When maintenance work is required on the
vehicle,thesupplementalfrontairbags,sideair
bags, curtain side-impact/rollover air bags, re-
latedpartsandpre-tensionerseatbeltshouldbe
pointedouttothepersonconductingthemain-
tenance.Theignitionswitchshouldalwaysbein
