1.3 Platen (1) At the left end of the platen, remove the platen gear (Gear 23) by pulling its pawl outwards and then remove the bushing. (2) At the right end, remove the gear 33RB by pulling its pawl outwards and then remove the bushing. (3) Move the platen to the left to take out the right end from the platen frame and then take it out to the right. Platen frame Bushing Platen gear (Gear 23) Platen Bushing Gear 33RB Left end 0 0 Right end Long Shor-t ■ Reassembling Notes • Reinstall the platen with its longer shaft end facing to the left. • Take care not to sandwich the black sub chute film between the platen and the paper feed sub chute.

of
the
platen,
remove
the
platen
gear
(Gear
23)
by
pulling
its
pawl
out-
wards and
then
remove
the
bushing.
(2)
At
the
right
end,
remove
the
gear
33RB
by
pulling
its
pawl
outwards
and
then
remove
the
bushing.
(3)
Move
the
platen
to
the
left
to
take
out
the
right
end
from
the
platen
frame
and
then
take
it
out
to
the
right.

shaft
