Receiving Faxes Receive Mode This section describes the procedure for receiving faxes. Your machine provides several methods for receiving fax documents. You can receive documents automatically or manually. Follow the chart below to choose the fax receive mode that best suits your needs. The default setting is . Receives a fax automatically. The machine's operation changes depending on whether an external telephone is connected. Auto mode Operation for when an incoming call is received Without an external telephone connected With an external telephone connected When the call is a fax The machine receives the fax automatically. When the call is a voice call The machine does not respond. An incoming call rings for the specified number of times. * Using the Fax Functions When you pick up the handset while the incoming call rings When you do not pick up the handset while the incoming call rings When the call is a fax You can hear a beep. Following the procedure below, receive the fax. (1) Press [Fax]. (2) Select with [ ] or [ ], and then press [OK]. (3) Hang up the handset. When the call is a voice call You can start talking as is. When the call is a fax The machine receives the fax automatically. Receive Mode
Your machine provides several methods for receiving fax documents. You can receive documents automatically or manually.
Follow the chart below to choose the fax receive mode that best suits your needs.
The default setting is <Auto>.
Auto mode
Receives a fax automatically.
The machine's operation changes depending on whether an external telephone is connected.
Operation for when an incoming call is received
* You can change the number of times the incoming call rings in "Incoming Ring" on P. 6-25.
Without an external telephone connected
When the call is a fax
