Settings for Shooting Setting the ISO Speed The ISO speed is a numeric indication of the sensitivity to light (→p.158). A higher ISO speed number indicates a higher sensitivity to light. Therefore, a high ISO speed is suited for moving subjects or shooting in low-light conditions. However, the image will contain more noise to make it look coarse or grainy. On the other hand, a low ISO speed will make the image look finer, but it is not suited for freezing motion or shooting in low light. ISO Speed in the Basic Zone Modes The ISO speed is set automatically.
