Using the remote control DX-32L221A12/DX-40L260A12 17 Using the remote control Installing remote control batteries To install the remote control batteries: 1 Remove the battery cover. 2 Insert two AAA batteries into the battery compartment. Make sure that you match the + and - symbols on the batteries with the + and - symbols in the battery compartment. 3 Replace the battery cover. Turning on your TV for the first time The first time you turn on your TV, the Setup Wizard opens. The Setup Wizard guides you through setting up basic settings including the menu language, time setting, picture mode, TV signal source, and the channel list. To set up your TV: 1 Make sure that you have: • Installed the remote control batteries. (See page 17 for details). • Connected an antenna, cable TV, or satellite TV. (See page 8 or 11 for details.) • Connected the power cord. (See page 8 for details.) 2 Press (power) to turn on your TV. The Choose Your Menu Language screen opens. Setup Wizard Choose Your Menu Language English Français Español Cautions • Batteries should not be exposed to excessive heat, such as sunshine, heat registers, or fire. • Battery chemicals can cause a rash. If the batteries leak, clean the battery compartment with a cloth. If chemicals touch your skin, wash immediately. • Make sure that batteries are disposed of correctly. Do not burn or incinerate. Aiming the remote control To aim the remote control: • Point the remote control towards the remote sensor on the front of your TV. You can select Pacific, Alaska, Hawaii, Newfoundland, Atlantic, Eastern, Central, or Mountain. 6 Press or to highlight Daylight Savings, then press or to select On (if your viewing area observes Daylight Savings Time) or Off (if your viewing area does not observe Daylight Savings Time). 7 If you selected Manual for Mode, set the date by pressing or to highlight Time Zone, Daylight Savings, Year, Month, or Day, then press or to adjust the setting. 8 If you selected Manual for Mode, set the time by pressing or to highlight Time, then pressing or to select the hour, minute, or AM/PM field. Press or to adjust the setting.

Using the remote control
Installing remote control batteries
To install the remote control batteries:

Remove the battery cover.

Insert two AAA batteries into the battery compartment. Make
sure that you match the + and – symbols on the batteries with
the + and – symbols in the battery compartment.

Replace the battery cover.
Aiming the remote control
To aim the remote control:
Point the remote control towards the remote sensor on the
front of your TV.

The first time you turn on your TV, the Setup Wizard opens. The Setup
Wizard guides you through setting up basic settings including the menu
