Mac printing-system software The printing-system software for Mac is composed of an HP-created postscript (PS) printer definition file (PPD) and a Printer Dialog Extension (PDE) file that work together with the Mac OS printing system. These files are used by the Mac OS printing system to determine default printer driver settings and to allow the user to select between the various print options and settings. An HPsupplied Mac printer configuration utility is provided, which allows the user to access the HP Embedded Web Server (HP EWS) for additional configuration and product status monitoring.
