Check that the cartridge is really empty. You can check approximately by shaking it, or check more accurately by weighing it. If it is empty, put it into the appropriate recycling container. If it is not completely empty, you may want to store it for further use in future. A full ink cartridge weighs 3400g (7.48 lb); an empty ink cartridge weighs 400g (0.88 lb).
