Configuring FCIP tunnels After you have verified licensing and connectivity between source and destination IP interfaces, you can configure FCIP tunnels. As you plan the tunnel configurations, be aware that uncommitted rate tunnels use a minimum of 1000 Kb/sec, up to a maximum of available uncommitted bandwidth on the GbE port. The total bandwidth available on a GbE port is 1 Gbit/sec. You can configure tunnels as bidirectional entities with different commit rates in both directions. NOTE: You cannot create FCIP tunnels that connect a 400 MP Router or 4/256 SAN Director with a B-Series MP Router blade to an MP Router model. The syntax for configuring FCIP Tunnels is provided in the following sections. For more information about Fabric OS commands, see the Fabric OS Command Reference Manual. FCIP Tunnel create option Following is the syntax for the portCfg fcipTunnel command: portcfg fciptunnel [slot/][ge] port args [optional_args] create [] [-n remote_wwn] [] [] [] [] [-ike ] [-ipsec ] [-key ] where: -c Enables compression on this tunnel. -s Disables selective acknowledgement code (SACK) on the specified tunnel. -f Enables fastwrite. -n remote_wwn Specifies the remote-side FC entity WWN. -k timeout Specifies the keep-alive timeout in seconds. The range of valid values is 8 through 7,200 sec and the default is 10. If tape pipelining is enabled both the default and minimum values are 80 sec. -r retransmissions Specifies the maximum number of retransmissions on the existing FCIP tunnel. The range of valid values is 1 through 16. If tape pipelining is enabled, the number of retransmissions is calculated based on the minimum retransmit time to ensure that tunnel does not timeout before the host times out (about 80 sec). Note that the value specified must be greater than the calculated value. -m time Specifies the minimum retransmit time, in milliseconds. The range of valid values is 20 through 5,000 ms and the default is 100 ms. -t Enables tape pipelining. If tape pipelining is enabled, fastwrite must also be enabled. -ike ike_number Specifies the IKE policy number to be used for this FCIP tunnel. -ipsec ipsec_number Specifies the IPSec policy number to be used for this FCIP tunnel. -key preshared_key The preshared key to be used during IKE authentication up to a maximum length of 32 bytes. It can be a double quoted string of alphanumeric characters. The range of valid values is 12 through 32 bytes. Fabric OS 5.3.0 administrator guide 415

Configuring FCIP tunnels

NOTE:
