TROUBLESHOOTING Symptoms That Seemingly Appear to be Failures I Make the checks suggested below depending on the symptoms observed. If the symptoms remain uncorrected, contact your dealer. ENGLISH WARNING • Customer servicing can be hazardous. Symptom • No picture with the power- indicating lamp off. • The message "POWER SAVE" is displayed. • No picture with the power indicating lamp flickering in green. • The message "OUT OF FREQUENCY" is displayed. POWER SAVE OUT OF FRQUENCY Point to check • Check the way the power cable is connected. • Press the power switch. See page 6 7 9 No sync signal is detected. • Check the way the signal cable is connected. 6 • Make sure that the switch of the computer, 7 imaging equipment , etc., is turned on. • Make sure the computer is not in the power-save 9 mode. 10 • Check to see if the input selection matches the connection terminal. 21 28 An input signal is not received normally. 6 • Check to see if the input signal matches the monitor specifications. 7 • Check the way the signal cable is connected. 21 • The power indicating lamp is normally lit but no picture . • The display image appears flowing slantwise. • Text displayed across the screen appears vertically streaked, with the characters in vertical columns blurred. • Text displayed across the screen appears blurred. • A fine pattern flickers when displayed on the screen. • Check the contrast and brightness settings 6 (adjust them for higher contrast and brightness). • Check the way the signal cable is connected. 7 11 13 • Adjust the dot clock frequency and phase. 15 (Adjust the dot clock frequency first, the dot clock phase next.) 16 (RGB input) 25 • Adjust the dot clock phase for the clearest 15 viewing. (RGB input) 16 26 • The remote controller does not work. • Check to see if the batteries are loaded in the remote controller in opposite direction. 8 • Check to see if the batteries in the remote controller are OK. 23
