12 OPTIONAL SPEAKER-MICROPHONE ■ HM-167 descriptions ■ Attachment 1 Alligator type clip To attach the speaker-microphone to your shirt or collar, etc. PTT switch Push to transmit. Release to receive. Turn power OFF before attaching the speaker-microphone. 2 Then, insert the speaker-microphone's connector into the 3 [SP MIC] connector and carefully screw it tight, as shown in the diagram below. Be careful not to cross-thread the con- 4 nection. 5 IMPORTANT: KEEP the transceiver's [SP MIC] cap attached when the speaker-microphone is not used. If the cover is not 6 Microphone Speaker attached, water will get into the transceiver. Moreover, the 7 terminals (pins) will become rusty, or the transceiver will function abnormally if the connector gets wet. 8 Turn the transceiver power OFF when connecting the HM-167.
