4049-XXX Fuser Shroud Assembly Removal Note: Replacing only the thermistor or thermal fuse is not recommended. Replace the complete shroud assembly. 1. Unplug the printer. 2. Remove the fuser wiper and fuser cover. 3. Pry the thermal fuse connectors off the terminals at each end of the fuser. 4. Disconnect the thermistor cable from the fuser exit board, and free the cable from the cable guides. 5. Release the metal shroud from the fuser by prying up on the slotted tab at each end, then rotating the shroud toward the rear. 6. Remove the shroud assembly by bending the left frame of the fuser slightly to the left. 4-23

Fuser Shroud Assembly Removal
Note:
Replacing only the thermistor or thermal fuse is not recom-
mended. Replace the complete shroud assembly.
1.
Unplug the printer.
2.
Remove the fuser wiper and fuser cover.
3.
Pry the thermal fuse connectors off the terminals at each end of
the fuser.
4.
Disconnect the thermistor cable from the fuser exit board, and
free the cable from the cable guides.
5.
Release the metal shroud from the fuser by prying up on the
slotted tab at each end, then rotating the shroud toward the
rear.
6.
Remove the shroud assembly by bending the left frame of the
fuser slightly to the left.
