4049-XXX Dual Rear Feeder Gear Alignment Adjustment Remove the right side cover of the feeder. The gear timing marks should be centered in the windows of the gear plate. If the timing mark is too far clockwise the gears will chatter during a POR. If the mark is too far counterclockwise, extra sheets may feed at random times, or paper may feed continuously after the first page is fed. To adjust: 1. Remove the mounting screw at the front of the torquer. 2. Loosen the mounting screw at the rear of the torquer. 3. Pivot the torquer up to disengage it from the gear. 4. Turn the torquer to its detented position. 5. Position the gear so the timing mark [A] is centered in the win- dow. 6. Pivot the torquer down, install the front screw and tighten the rear screw, keeping the timing centered in the window. Repair Information 4-4

Dual Rear Feeder Gear Alignment Adjustment
Remove the right side cover of the feeder. The gear timing marks
should be centered in the windows of the gear plate. If the timing
mark is too far clockwise the gears will chatter during a POR. If the
mark is too far counterclockwise, extra sheets may feed at random
times, or paper may feed continuously after the first page is fed.
To adjust:
1.
Remove the mounting screw at the front of the torquer.
2.
Loosen the mounting screw at the rear of the torquer.
3.
Pivot the torquer up to disengage it from the gear.
4.
Turn the torquer to its detented position.
5.
Position the gear so the timing mark [
A
] is centered in the win-
dow.
6.
Pivot the torquer down, install the front screw and tighten the
rear screw, keeping the timing centered in the window.
