Understanding printer menus 159 Fax Settings menu Fax Mode (Analog Fax Setup) menu Analog Fax Setup mode sends the fax job through a telephone line. General Fax Settings Use Fax Name Fax Number Fax ID Fax Name Fax Number Enable Manual Fax On Off Memory Use All receive Mostly receive Equal Mostly send All send Cancel Faxes Allow Don't Allow Caller ID Off Primary Alternate Fax number masking Off From left From right Digits to Mask 0-58 To Specify the name of the fax in the printer. Specify the telephone number assigned to the fax. Specify how the fax is identified. Set the printer to fax manually, which requires a line splitter and a telephone handset. Notes: • Off is the factory default setting. • Use a regular telephone to answer an incoming fax job and to dial a fax number. • Press # 0 on the numeric keypad to go directly to the Manual Fax function. Define the allocation of non-volatile memory between sending and receiving fax jobs. Notes: • "Equal" is the factory default setting. This splits the memory for sending and receiving fax jobs into equal amounts. • "Mostly send" specifies that most of the memory is set to send fax jobs. • "All send" specifies that all the memory is set to send fax jobs. • "All receive" specifies that all the memory is set to receive fax jobs. • "Mostly receive" specifies that most of the memory is set to receive fax jobs. Specify whether the printer cancels fax jobs. Note: Allow is the factory default setting. Specify the type of caller ID being used. Specify the direction from where digits are masked in an outgoing fax number. Notes: • Off is the factory default setting. • The number of characters masked is determined by the "Digits to Mask" setting. Specify the number of digits to mask in an outgoing fax number. Note: 0 is the factory default setting.
