VCR OPERATION (CONTINUED) TO STOP RECORDING TEMPORARILY 1 TO STOP RECORDING 1 Press the PLAY/PAUSE ®P button to avoid recording unwanted material. Press the PLAY/PAUSE ®P button again to continue recording. The Pause mode will be released after 5 minutes to prevent damage to the tape, the unit will then be in the Stop mode. To stop recording, press the STOP X button. ONE-TOUCH RECORDING OTR is a simple and convenient way to make a timed recording without programming the Timer. 1 2 1 Press the POWER button to turn on the unit and load a tape with the Erase Prevention Tab intact. Press the SP/SLP button to select the desired tape speed. See page 29 for more information on tape usage. 3 3 4 1 2 3 Press the AV1 1 or AV2 2 button to select the desired input source to record (AV1 (rear A/V jacks) or AV2 (front A/V jacks). Press the REC button 3 once to start recording. Press it again to activate OTR (One-Touch Recording); "OTR" will appear on the screen and "0:30" and the OTR logo " "will appear on the display. The unit will record for 30 minutes and then it will stop and turn off to the Standby mode. Within a few seconds, press the REC button to increase the recording time by 30 minutes. Each additional press of the REC button will increase recording time by 30 minutes, up to a maximum of eight hours. To cancel OTR, press the REC button repeatedly until the OTR logo " " disappears on the display. To stop OTR, press and hold the STOP button until "STOP" appears in the display. NOTES: • If the tape's available recording time is shorter that the OTR time that you set, when the end of the tape is reached, the recording will stop and the tape will be ejected and the unit will turn off to the standby mode automatically. • If the Erase Prevention Tab is removed, the tape will eject when the REC button is pressed. 34
