Computer connectivity 18. Computer connectivity ■ Nokia PC Suite Nokia PC Suite software is available for your phone. Nokia PC Suite is a collection of powerful tools that you can use to manage your phone features and data. Each component is a separate program that includes online helps. Nokia PC Suite software, installation instructions, and other documentation is provided free of charge and can be downloaded from the software downloads of the Nokia web site: www.nokiausa.com/pcsuite. ■ Packet data, HSCSD, and CSD With your phone you can use the packet data, HSCSD (high-speed circuit switched data), and CSD (circuit switched data, GSM data) services. For availability and subscription to data services, contact your service provider. The use of HSCSD services consumes the phone battery faster than normal voice or data calls. You may need to connect the phone to a charger for the duration of data transfer. See "Packet data (EGPRS) (network service)" on page 47. ■ Data communication applications For information on using a data communication application, refer to the documentation provided with it. Making or answering phone calls during a computer connection is not recommended, as it might disrupt the operation. For better performance during data calls, place the phone on a stationary surface, with the keypad facing downward. Do not move the phone by holding it in your hand during a data call. 79
