160 E TROUBLESHOOTING Operating Problems The camera does not work. 1 The power is OFF. [ Push the power button to turn it on. (P. 58) 2 The batteries are loaded incorrectly. [ Reload the batteries correctly. (P. 50) 3 The batteries are dead. [ Replace the batteries with new ones. (P. 50) 4 The batteries are temporarily unable to function. [ Keep the batteries warm while using the camera. [ Rest the batteries between shots. 5 The Card compartment cover is open. [ Close the Card compartment cover. No picture is taken when the Shutter release button is pressed. 1 The picture just taken is being written into the SmartMedia. [ Remove your finger from the Shutter release button, and wait until the Green lamp stops blinking and the display on the LCD monitor disappears. (P. 76) 2 SmartMedia is full. [ Replace the SmartMedia, erase unwanted pictures, or transfer the entire picture data to a PC and erase the data.
