MANAGING THE WD SENTINEL SERVER (DASHBOARD) Lock/Unlock For security reasons, you can lock or unlock the drives. You cannot lock or unlock an individual drive; you either lock them all or unlock them all, using a password you create here. This password may be but does not have to be the same as the WD Sentinel server Administrator password. Important: Store your password in a secure place. If the password is lost, there is no way to get it back or unlock the drives, and all of its data may be lost. To lock the drives: 1. Click Lock drives. 2. Set and confirm the password and enter a hint to remind you of the password. Click Next. To unlock drives: 1. Click Unlock drives. 2. Enter the current password, and click Unlock drives. To change the password: 1. Click Unlock drives. 2. Enter the current password. 3. Set and confirm a new password and enter a hint to remind you of the password. Click OK. Updating Software Periodically, WD issues software updates for your WD Sentinel DX4000 server. The Update Software tab within Monitor allows you to update WD Sentinel DX4000 software automatically or manually. Please note that this tab only allows you to apply software updates issued by WD. To manage or apply Microsoft software updates, go to Server Settings on the Dashboard. Updating Software
Periodically, WD issues software updates for your WD Sentinel DX4000 server. The
Update Software tab within Monitor allows you to update WD Sentinel DX4000

software updates issued by WD. To manage or apply Microsoft software updates,

Server Settings
on the Dashboard.
