Chapter 24 General Setup Table 108 Menu 1: General Setup (continued) FIELD DESCRIPTION Contact Enter the name of the person to contact for questions about the P-792H Person's Name v2. You can enter up to 30 characters, or you can leave this field blank. Domain Name Enter the domain name (if you know it) here. If you leave this field blank, the ISP may assign a domain name via DHCP. You can go to menu 24.8 and type "sys domain name" to see the current domain name used by your router. Edit Dynamic DNS Route IP The domain name entered by you is given priority over the ISP assigned domain name. If you want to clear this field just press [SPACE BAR] and then [ENTER]. Press [SPACE BAR] and then [ENTER] to select Yes or No (default). Select Yes to configure Menu 1.1: Configure Dynamic DNS discussed next. Select Yes to enable IP-based routing in the P-792H v2. This is not effective for a specific remote node unless you enable IP-based routing in the remote node too. See Menu 11.1: Remote Node Profile (nodes 1-7) in Section 28.3 on page 308. Bridge345 You should enable Route IP, Bridge, or both in this screen. If you disable Route IP and Bridge, the device does not send traffic between the LAN ports and remote node. If Route IP is Yes, select Yes in this field to enable bridging in the P792H v2 for protocols that are not supported by IP-based routing (for example, SNA). If Route IP is No, select Yes in this field to enable bridging in the P792H v2 for all protocols. In either case, this setting is not effective for a specific remote node unless you enable bridging in the remote node too. See Menu 11.1: Remote Node Profile (nodes 1-7) in Section 28.3 on page 308. You should enable Route IP, Bridge, or both in this screen. If you disable Route IP and Bridge, the device does not send traffic between the LAN ports and remote node. When you have completed this menu, press [ENTER] at the prompt "Press ENTER to Confirm..." to save your configuration, or press [ESC] at any time to cancel. 24.1.1 Configuring Dynamic DNS To configure Dynamic DNS, set the P-792H v2 to router mode in menu 1 or in the MAINTENANCE Device Mode screen and go to Menu 1 - General Setup and 292 P-792H v2 User's Guide
