Cleaning the Exterior Lamps Do not use dry paper towel, chemical solvents or abrasive cleaners to clean the lamps, as these may cause scratches or crack the lamps. Daytime Running Light System (Canadian vehicles only) The Daytime Running Light (DRL) system turns the high beam headlamps on, with a reduced light output, when: s The headlamp system is in the OFF position, and s The vehicle has a fully released parking brake. The high beam indicator light on the instrument cluster will not be on. RWARNING The Daytime Running Light (DRL) system will not illuminate the tail lamps and parking lamps. Turn on your headlamps at dusk. Failure to do so may result in a collision. Lighting Up the Instrument Panel and the Interior of Your Vehicle The instrument panel lights can be turned on by turning the headlamp knob toward either the first or second position. You can brighten or dim the instrument panel lights by rotating the thumb wheel. The interior lights will shut off after 25 seconds with all the doors closed, or immediately when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position, or if the vehicle speed is above five MPH (8 km/h). The interior lights will turn off after 40 minutes if any of the doors are left open. Refer to Battery Saver in the Features section for more details. 132
