Safety Restraints 9. Fasten both halves of the chest clip below the child's shoulders and adjust the clip (up or down) to comfortably hold the shoulder belts in place on the child's chest. The indicator on the chest clip will show green when the clip is latched. (The purpose of this clip is to position the shoulder belts correctly on the child's shoulders.) The clip can be easily pulled apart and is designed to pull apart during a collision. The clip will help keep the shoulder belts on the shoulders of a sleeping or squirming child.
