Remove the jack and stand supporting the motor-
cycle.
Before tightening the clamp bolts on the right fork
leg, loosen the right front axle clamp bolts, and
pump the forks up and down 4 or 5 times to allow
the right fork leg to find a neutral position on the
front axle.
NOTE
Do not apply the front brake during this process
to stop the motorcycle from rolling forward. Put a
block in front of the wheel to stop it from moving.
A. Pump the forks up and down.
B. Block
Tighten the right front axle clamp bolts to the spec-
ified torque.
Tightening Torque
Right Front Axle Clamp Bolts:
23 N·m (2.3 kgf·m, 17 ft·lb)
NOTE
Tighten the two clamp bolts alternately two times
to ensure even tightening torque.
