84 MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT • Install the two caps to the magneto cover. Tightening Torque Timing Inspection Cap: 3.5 N·m (0.36 kgf·m, 31 in·lb) Flywheel Nut Cap: 3.5 N·m (0.36 kgf·m, 31 in·lb) Exhaust System The exhaust system, in particular the muffler body, is designed to reduce exhaust noise and conduct the exhaust gases away from the rider while minimizing power loss. If carbon has built up inside the muffler body, exhaust efficiency is reduced, causing engine performance to drop. If the muffler body is badly damaged, dented, cracked or rusted, replace it. Replace the silencer wool if the exhaust noise becomes too loud or engine performance drops. j • Install the removed parts. Silencer Wool Replacement • Remove the bolts and right side cover. A. Install the two caps to the magneto cover.
Tightening Torque
Timing Inspection Cap:
3.5 N·m (0.36 kgf·m, 31 in·lb)

The exhaust system, in particular the muffler body,

Remove the bolts and right side cover.
