Troubleshooting the NJ220 Event/Message Green LEDs on Ports 1-4 are not on Amber LED on Port 1 is not lit Power LED is blinking continuously Authentication Failure Timeout Attributes Error General Error Description Network device has no connection to IntelliJack Power is not being forwarded to network device Unit has detected a problem. Traffic can pass through, but management will not work. Wrong password has been entered Device did not respond within a specified period of time Unexpected configuration parameters Something other than authentication failure, timeout or attributes error has occurred Solution I Make sure the cable is properly connected to the network device. I Make sure the cable is firmly connected to one of the four IntelliJack ports labeled 1-4. I Make sure the cable is a good straight-through cable. I Make sure the cable is properly connected to Port 1 of the IntelliJack. I Make sure the cable is properly connected to the powered device. I Make sure the IntelliJack is configured to match the cable - either straight through or crossover. I Make sure the powered device is IEEE 802.3af compatible. I Make sure the power requirement for the powered device does not exceed 7 watts. The IntelliJack can only forward up to 7 watts. I Contact 3Com Technical Support. I Confirm correct password and retype. I Refresh the screen after a few seconds. If the problem persists, try to rediscover the device. I Confirm that you have specified valid parameter values and retry the configuration operation. I NOTE: This error should not appear to the user under normal conditions.
