5.5 Novell® NetWare® Server 5.5.1 Adaptec® SCSI Driver Installation A. Preparing an Adaptec Ultra320 FMS driver disk 1. Insert a blank formatted high density floppy disk into the floppy drive. 2. Place the support CD into the CD-ROM drive. The Drivers menu appears displaying the available drivers. 3. Select the appropriate item to create an Adaptec Ultra320 FMS driver disk for Novell Netware. 4. Follow the screen instructtions to complete the installation. B. Installing NetWare 5.X/6.0 with an Ultra320 SCSI Controller Follow these steps to install Netware 5.x/6.0 for the first time with an Ultra320 SCSI controller. 1. Begin installation of NetWare on your server as instructed in your NetWare documentation. 2. When a screen appears that asks to add device drivers, choose MODIFY and press ENTER. 3. Choose STORAGE ADAPTERS, and press ENTER. 4. Press Insert to add storage devices. 5. Press Insert to add an unlisted driver. 6. Insert the Adaptec Ultra320 FMS Driver disk for NetWare into the floppy drive. 7. Press F3 and specify the path to the ADPU320.HAM driver. For NetWare 5.1 and 6.0, select: A:\NETWARE\V51_V60\ For NetWare 5.0, select: A:\NETWARE\V42_V50\ 8. Select ADPU320.HAM and press ENTER. 9. Select "Return to driver list" to accept the default slot number, and press ENTER. 10. Press ESC, select "Return to driver summary" and press ENTER. 11. Press ESC, select "Continue" and press ENTER. A.
Preparing an Adaptec Ultra320 FMS driver disk
1.
Insert a blank formatted high density floppy disk into the floppy drive.
2.
Place the support CD into the CD-ROM drive. The Drivers menu
appears displaying the available drivers.
3.
Select the appropriate item to create an Adaptec Ultra320 FMS driver
disk for Novell Netware.
4.
Follow the screen instructtions to complete the installation.
B.
Installing NetWare 5.X/6.0 with an Ultra320 SCSI
Controller
Follow these steps to install Netware 5.x/6.0 for the first time with an
Ultra320 SCSI controller.
1.
Begin installation of NetWare on your server as instructed in your
NetWare documentation.
2.
When a screen appears that asks to add device drivers, choose
MODIFY and press ENTER.
3.
Choose STORAGE ADAPTERS, and press ENTER.
4.
Press Insert to add storage devices.
5.
Press Insert to add an unlisted driver.
6.
Insert the Adaptec Ultra320 FMS Driver disk for NetWare into the
floppy drive.
7.
Press F3 and specify the path to the ADPU320.HAM driver. For
NetWare 5.1 and 6.0, select:
A:\NETWARE\V51_V60\
For NetWare 5.0, select:
A:\NETWARE\V42_V50\
8.
Select ADPU320.HAM and press ENTER.
9.
Select "Return to driver list" to accept the default slot number, and
press ENTER.
10.
Press ESC, select "Return to driver summary" and press ENTER.
11.
Press ESC, select "Continue" and press ENTER.
