Sending Faxes Set the resolution as follows: 1 Press [FAX]. If you are already in the Fax standby mode, you can skip this step. 2 Press [Image Quality]. The LCD display shows the current resolution setting. 3 Press [Image Quality] repeatedly until the resolution you want is displayed ➞ press [Set]. FAX RESOLUTION FINE ➞ 12/31/2005 FaxOnly SAT 10:00 FINE 4 Continue with the operation you wish to complete. If you do not proceed with any other operation, the LCD display returns to standby mode. Adjusting the Exposure (Density) 6 You can adjust the lightness/darkness of the document pages before you scan for sending. You can select the scanning density from the following: • for documents with dark text or color. • for normal printed or written text. • for documents with light text or color. 1 Press [FAX]. If you are already in the Fax standby mode, you can skip this step. 2 Press [Exposure]. The LCD display shows the current exposure setting. 3 Press [Exposure] repeatedly until the scanning density you want is displayed ➞ press [Set]. DENSITY CONTROL DARK ➞ 12/31/2005 FaxOnly SAT 10:00 STANDARD 4 Continue the operation you wish to complete. If you do not proceed with any other operation, the LCD display returns to standby mode. NOTE • You can set the scanning density so that the desired scanning density such as 'STANDARD' is automatically returned after the function activates or documents are scanned. Since of is set to 'OFF' in the factory default setting, the scanning density set using [Exposure] will remain unchanged.
