DES-3350SR Layer 3 Fast Ethernet Switch User's Guide config stp ports sub-commands listed below. cost − This defines a metric that indicates the relative cost of forwarding packets to the specified port list. The default cost for a 1000 Mbps port is 20,000, a 100 Mbps port is 200,000, and for a 10 Mbps port the default cost is 2,000,000. auto − This instructs the switch to automatically detect the path cost based on the link speed of the port. − This defines a metric that indicates the relative cost of forwarding packets to the specified port list. priority − This numeric value is between 0 and 240 and must also be divisible by 16. It is used in determining the root and designated port in an STP port list. The default is 128, with 0 indicating the highest priority. migrate [yes|no] - yes will enable the port to migrate from 802.1d STP status to 802.1w RSTP status. RSTP can coexist with standard STP, however the benefits of RSTP are not realized on a port where an 802.1d network connects to an 802.1w enabled network. Migration should be enabled (yes) on ports connected to network stations or segments that will be upgraded to 802.1w RSTP onall or some portion of the segment. 102
