Figure 37. Installing the touchpad NOTE: Ensure that the touchpad is aligned with the guides on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly, and the gap on either side of the touchpad is equal. Steps 1. Align and place the touchpad, along with the touchpad cable, in the slot on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. 2. Replace the two (M2x2.3) screws to secure the touchpad to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. 3. Align the screw holes on the touchpad bracket to the screw holes on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. 4. Place the touchpad bracket in the slot on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. 5. Replace the five (M2x2.3) screws to secure the touchpad bracket to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. 6. Connect the touchpad cable to the connector (TP) on the system board and press down the cable-connector latch to secure the cable in place. 7. NOTE:

Steps
1.
Align and place the touchpad, along with the touchpad cable, in the slot on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
2.
Replace the two (M2x2.3) screws to secure the touchpad to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
3.
Align the screw holes on the touchpad bracket to the screw holes on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
4.
Place the touchpad bracket in the slot on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
5.
Replace the five (M2x2.3) screws to secure the touchpad bracket to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
6.
Connect the touchpad cable to the connector (TP) on the system board and press down the cable-connector latch to
secure the cable in place.
7.
Route the speaker cable along the routing guides on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
