Figure 40. Removing the I/O board Steps 1. Remove the three (M2.5x5) screws that secure the left-display hinge to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. 2. Using a plastic scribe, lift and open the left-display hinge to an angle of 90 degrees from the palm-rest and keyboard assembly to access the I/O board. 3. Lift the cable-connector latch and disconnect the I/O board cable from the connector on the I/O board. 4. For computers with a fingerprint reader installed, lift the cable-connector latch and disconnect the fingerprint reader cable from the I/O board. 5. Remove the three (M2x3.5) screws that secure the I/O board to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. 6. Carefully slide and lift the I/O board at an angle, moving it away from the port slots, and then remove it from the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. Steps
1.
Remove the three (M2.5x5) screws that secure the left-display hinge to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
2.
Using a plastic scribe, lift and open the left-display hinge to an angle of 90 degrees from the palm-rest and keyboard
assembly to access the I/O board.
3.
Lift the cable-connector latch and disconnect the I/O board cable from the connector on the I/O board.
4.
For computers with a fingerprint reader installed, lift the cable-connector latch and disconnect the fingerprint reader cable
from the I/O board.
5.
Remove the three (M2x3.5) screws that secure the I/O board to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
6.
Carefully slide and lift the I/O board at an angle, moving it away from the port slots, and then remove it from the palm-rest
and keyboard assembly.
