Figure 44. Display assembly Steps 1. Remove the five (M2.5x5) screws that secure the left and right-display hinges to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. 2. Open the hinges to a 90-degree angle. 3. Disconnect the display cable from the connector (eDP) on the system board. 4. Lift the palm-rest and keyboard assembly at an angle to free it from the hinges and remove it from the display assembly. NOTE: The display assembly is a Hinge-Up Design (HUD) assembly and cannot be further disassembled once it is removed from the bottom chassis. If any components in the display assembly malfunction and require replacement, the entire display assembly has to be replaced. NOTE: The power-adapter port is secured in place by the right-display hinge. There is no screw, tape, or adhesive securing the power-adapter port to the palm-rest. Therefore, it is important to verify that the power-adapter port has not been displaced during service. CAUTION: The maximum operating angle for the display-panel hinge is 135 degrees. Steps
1.
Remove the five (M2.5x5) screws that secure the left and right-display hinges to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
2.
Open the hinges to a 90-degree angle.
3.
Disconnect the display cable from the connector (eDP) on the system board.
4.
Lift the palm-rest and keyboard assembly at an angle to free it from the hinges and remove it from the display assembly.
NOTE:
The display assembly is a Hinge-Up Design (HUD) assembly and cannot be further disassembled once it is
removed from the bottom chassis. If any components in the display assembly malfunction and require replacement, the
entire display assembly has to be replaced.
NOTE:
The power-adapter port is secured in place by the right-display hinge. There is no screw, tape, or adhesive
securing the power-adapter port to the palm-rest. Therefore, it is important to verify that the power-adapter port has
not been displaced during service.
