Setting Up Your Printer This chapter describes how to unpack and set up your printer, and how to connect it to your network. For more information on using and maintaining the printer, see the EPSON Stylus C80 Reference Guide as described on page 3. Unpacking the Printer Remove any packing material from the printer as described on the unpacking sheet in the printer box. Then make sure you have the following items: ink cartridges power cord paper support printer Printer Software CD-ROM AC adapter and power cord for print server Printer Basics Getting Started (this book) print server You'll also need a Category 5 twisted pair network cable with RJ45 connectors to connect the printer to a hub or switch. If you'll be connecting a computer directly to the printer (without a hub or switch), you'll need a "crossover" network cable. 7

Setting Up Your Printer
This chapter describes how to unpack and set up your printer, and how to connect it
to your network. For more information on using and maintaining the printer, see the

Unpacking the Printer
Remove any packing material from the printer as described on the unpacking sheet
in
the printer box. Then make sure you have the following items:
Printer Software
CD-ROM
paper support
You’ll also need a Category 5 twisted pair network cable with
RJ45 connectors to connect the printer to a hub or switch. If
you’ll be connecting a computer directly to the printer (without a
hub or switch), you’ll need a “crossover” network cable.
