Checking the Projector Lamp The projector lamp lasts for up to 3000 hours. You can use the Info menu to check how long it's been in use (see below). It's time to replace the lamp when: • The projected image gets darker or starts to deteriorate. • The message Replace the lamp appears on the screen when you start projecting. • The projector's warning light flashes red at half-second intervals (see below for details). Note Lamp life results will vary depending on mode selected, environmental conditions, and usage. Turn off this product when not in use to prolong the life of the projector. Checking the Info Menu If you have access to the remote control that came with the projector (not the Ensemble HD remote), you can use it to check the projector's Info menu to find out how long the lamp has been in use. If you don't have the remote control, you'll need to remove the cover on the bottom of the projector enclosure (see page 56) and then use the buttons on the projector's control panel to display the Info menu. 1 Press the Menu button on the projector's remote control or on its control panel. 2 Use the menu navigation buttons to open the Info menu. 3 Check the Lamp Hours to determine how long the lamp has been in use. Note The Lamp Hours shows 0H until you've used the lamp for at least 10 hours. Checking the Warning Light If you suspect that the lamp needs to be replaced, check the warning light on the projector's control panel. 1 Remove the cover on the bottom of the projector enclosure (see page 56). 2 Check the warning light, pictured below. Warning light If the warning light is flashing red at half-second intervals, the lamp needs to be replaced. Contact your dealer or a qualified servicer, or contact Epson for help (see page 69). 58
