2. The information in the Physical Disks section identifies which disk has failed. The serial number is the only unique identifier of the disk. It is very important to make a note of the physical disk number and the serial number as they appear on this screen BEFORE you remove the disk. The serial number is the only way that you can be sure you are replacing the correct disk. CAUTION: If you replace the wrong disk, you could lose all your data. 3. Make sure there are no backup or restore jobs in progress and that no future jobs are scheduled to start whilst the system is shut down. Select Shutdown on the Web Management interface and click Power Off to power down the HP D2D Backup System safely. 4. Disconnect the network cable and the power cord from the HP D2D Backup System. 5. Loosen the captive thumbscrew (1) located on the rear edge of the access panel. Slide the panel back about 2.5 cm (1.0 in). to remove the access panel. 116 Hard disk replacement
