3.4.1 Method Method defines the basic image enhancement to apply. It has one of the following values: Continuous Tone: used when the image has many colors and transitions among them. This method is used in the "Color Photo" type of original. Graphics: used for images where lines and edges should be sharp. Used in "Map" and "CAD" types of original. Mixed: used when the original contains both text and pictures. Used in the "Brochure" type of original. 3.4.2 Lightness This setting is used to increase or decrease the lightness of the image. It can be used to compensate for dull or faded originals. Possible values range from -3 to +6. 3.4.3 Saturation When positive, this setting increases the colors' saturation (i.e. colors become more vivid); when negative, it makes the image duller (grayer). It can be used to compensate for faded originals. Possible values range from -6 to +6.
