USB board Description USB board (includes cable) Spare part number 603922-001 Before removing the USB board, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 41). 5. Remove the following components: a. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 51) b. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 54) c. Top cover (see Top cover on page 55) Remove the USB board: 1. Position the computer upright with the right side toward you. 2. If necessary, move the power connector cable aside to gain access to the USB board screw. 3. Disconnect the USB board cable (1) from the system board. 4. Remove the Phillips PM2.5×8.0 screw (2) that secures the USB board to the base enclosure. Component replacement procedures 61

Before removing the USB board, follow these steps:
1.

Remove the following components:

Remove the USB board:
1.
Position the computer upright with the right side toward you.
2.
If necessary, move the power connector cable aside to gain access to the USB board screw.
3.
Disconnect the USB board cable

from the system board.
4.
Remove the Phillips PM2.5×8.0 screw
(2)
that secures the USB board to the base enclosure.
