Power button board Description Power button board (with cable and bracket) Spare part number 608276-001 Before removing the power button board, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 41). 5. Remove the following components: a. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 51) b. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 54) c. Top cover (see Top cover on page 55) d. Speaker assembly (Speaker assembly on page 63). Remove the power button board: 1. Turn the computer upright with the right side toward you. 2. Disconnect the cable from the system board (1). 3. Remove the Phillips PM2.0×3.0 screw (2) that secures the power button board to the top cover. Component replacement procedures 71
